The Student Body Council at GIA Carlsbad, CA is a student run organization which started in March of 2005. The council strives to enhance student life and interaction at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). The council’s objectives are to: promote extracurricular activities, provide the student body a conduit for student feedback, encourage student–teacher relationships, emphasize the importance of personal honor, and integrity, as well as interaction within the jewelry industry.
Our Future:
Building Bridges - SBC members are currently engaged in building an effective and efficient medium for students and industry organizations to connect and support each other to achieve greater goals
Sponsor Events - SBC plans to sponsor student events aimed at encouraging student interaction and the development of long term relationships.
What does it mean to be a SBC member?
SBC members are actively involved on and off campus in helping the institute and other students. Furthermore, SBC’s members are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of Integrity, Leadership and true Professionalism. GIA students are the future leaders of our industry. As a council we need your insight and participation.
